Ive had it in gold and platinum and after about a week it starts sending my text messages as though they are picture messages. After about 3 days of doing that it just stops sending them period. Ive had my settings checked and gone through TSD but no one knows the problem so i just got a new SIM card and it fixed it for about a week - has anyone else heard of this problem? I had it happen to a friend who had a SYNC but it only happened once.

I had a customer who walked into my store with the same issue. It seems like it might be a glitch in the software of the V3XX. I'm in the process of looking for a possible update or solution to the issue. Ill get back you and let you know.

Ok here is what i was able to find out. It is a software issue and Motorola is working on the patch for it but they havent released it yet. The phone is automaticaly choosing a MMS message after a certian number of text messages are stored in your outbox. Set a clean up on your out box make a guess on the number of messages you want to store then adjust it from there.

You can also change a setting on your phone to prompt you for the type of message (MMS, SMS, ect) this way you know and may be able to change the message to a text. For now thats all i know, i hope it helps

I had the same problem with a v3xx that I returned within the 30 day policy. After getting my second v3xx it appeared as though it was a problem isolated to the first model until about a week after my policy was up.

Desperate to not have a malfunctioning phone for the duration of my contract, I noticed that the MMS conversion problem happened just as the inbox on both phones topped 200 messages.

The fix:

Set the inbox and outbox settings so that the phone will "auto-clean" at 99 messages. That should fix the problem, seeing as I haven't had any trouble with messaging since. And no need to replace the phone! 😁

Hope this helps. :]
