3G Sim Question

I have a Razr V3i which has an old Cingular SIM. I read somewhere that you need a 3G SIM which I think is 64K for a Razr V3xx. I think the one I have is 32K.

My question is if I buy a Razr V3xx from Ebay or an online store, must I upgrade my sim card to 64K. If I don't, what problems would arise? Would a Cingular store fix me up with a 3G sim without giving me grief about not buying the phone from them?

Thanks for your help.

Jeff

It's a good idea to go ahead and upgrade your SIM card especially if you have the 32K version. It depends really on the customer service rep you get. I regularly go in to replace my SIM because I switch it from phone to phone so much that it gets really scratched up and I don't want to risk it failing since it is the only form of phone I have. They have never charged me or given me a hard time. They will probably readily give you a new one for free if you just go in, show them your 32K card, play dumb and say that you heard that you would need a 3G card if you decided to get a 3G capable phone in the future and you wanted to be ready. 😎

The 3G sim card will allow you to use the phone to its fullest. You can use it with the 32k but to use broadband connect and Cingular Video it will run smoother with a 3G sim. Also some newer phones can burn out 32k sim cards so its to your advantage to get the 3G sim ahead of time to avoid any unforeseeable issues.
