there is NO EVDO this phone is 1X only
👀 im not certain where phonescoop got their info but Verizon's internal product pages and info list this phone as 1X only and so does their public website. When I owned the phone it only picked up 1X, even though I was in a thick EVDO area. PS: I LOVE YOU GUYS but please double-check and correct that info.
thanks
wizzard

theres a discrepancy. look at the consumer version. have your verizon buddies look it up in infomanager. its 1X.

VCast was clearly listed in the features when it first went up on vzw.com. It looks like that may have been removed now, although it still says "VCast" on the display in the photos, and the photos seem to show a phone with two signal meters like an EVDO phone... 😕 We'll look into it and find out for certain. Thanks!

rich, I have the phone in my hand, it does not have vcast, guranteed

im watching the blogs and such, and there seems to still be a debate over this. This phone will only access the 1X network.
Look at the FCC filing. look at verizon's consumer website, go to the VZW store and have the rep look it up in their info system called infomanager. The darn thing could cure cancer for all I know, and be the best phone ever, but it has NO EVDO. that means NO VCAST. That means mobile web 2.0 will be SLOW. The phone sacrificed camera, EVDO, and reception to have bluetooth. BFD on bluetooth.
Look, this might be a great phone for a lot of folks, but buy it on correct info. if you want evdo and/or VCAST then you want something else.

I am an indirect rep for VZW, according to the information I have on Infocenter. The new G'Zone phone IS NOT EVDO CAPABLE. It will ONLY access the 1x network. Way to go UT-Starcom. You screwed the last version up with a heft price tag, and no freaking Bluetooth. Now we got a smaller cheaper version, 1.3 cam and bluetooth, and no EVDO. I would have rather had EVDO then Bluetooth.
