as far as i know, u cant unlock phones that function on the CDMA network. all the phone are helio exclusive and unfortunately, its not possible to use any of these for any other provider.

word of advice though, u might as well switch. helio runs off the verizon AND sprint towers, and if ur bill consists of a lot of data, you would more than likely be saving a lot of money switching over anyway.

This person is correct. CDMA cannot be unlocked. And besides the fact. Even if possible its running Helio firmware not verizons ugly red one (jk) It would be of no use to you at all anyways.

Both of these people are incorrect, All phones can be software unlocked. It just depends on if there is software for it. The phone runs off of regular CDMA frequencies. Although you might be able to unlock it, this would cause ALL data features to no longer work. This would include web/picture messaging/ IM/ E-mail so it would basically be useless

So it'd be impossible to use the Ocean under providers that use Sim Cards, such as T-Mobile?

Unlocked ones won't be available as others have told you, but I would like to correct them. You CAN unlock CDMA phones. It is more commonly called Flashing instead of unlocking. The problem is that you have to find someone to do it. Verizon has said that they will activate an unlocked phone, but it has to trully have no attachments to the former carrier, and of course it must be a CDMA phone. Verizon won't unlock it, but they will activate it. If you can find someone that can unlock it, please let me know, lol!

You can unlock it sorta...there are some dealer that can unlock it and flash it to Verizon for you, but you will lose some key features like web, gps, mms, everything else works ^_^
