I have a friend who is trying to buy this phone without contract. Can he use it (to use the camera, music player, bluetooth, ect..) with out being activated? When you first turn on the phone is it locked?

Any help would be appreciated!!

Hey cesar. I am a Sprint rep. When you buy the phone outright from a Store you must buy it with a plan. If he already has a plan and wants to buy the phone out right it will not extend contract.

To answer your question...The functions in question will work if the phone is not activated. Your best bet to purchase an unactivated phone is probably ebay...you might get even luckier and find one with a bad ESN. The only disadvantage to the bad ESN is that it can NEVER be activated, but it will save you some $$ if you never plan on activating it.
