Text Messages - Please help - any info is better than none....

I am considering buying this phone; however, I send and receive a lot of text messages (3,000 or more a month). I read earlier in the forum that you can only see the last 10 text messages sent.

* Is that right - you can only see the last 10 texts that you sent?
* How many text messages can you select at the same time?
* Also, has anyone else ever gone from a blackberry or pda (keyboard) to this phone and how does it compare in terms of speed to type a message?
* Can you sync your phone to your computer so you won't lose your contacts if something happens to your phone?
Thanks!
Andrea

I may not be much help, but I'll give you my opinion. I don't do much text messaging so I can't tell you the limit of the number of text messages but the number of phone calls in/out retained exceeds ten. As I understand it (haven't tried it) SMS messaging through Sprint lets you send to a large group of recipients. Sprint also provides an extra cost service to automatically backup your contacts or you can use a third party software package to sync to your PC. Your biggest problem is going to be with the keyboard. If I were doing much text messaging, I wouldn't even consider anything without a full keyboard. Maybe I'm just a slow typist ... or too long winded.

You are correct that this phone only retains 10 outgoing messages, but it does retain 200 incoming messages. You can send SMS messages to 10 recipients at a time. I just switched to this phone from a line of treos (300, 650, and 700p), which I have been using since 2003, and I can tell you, there is a learning curve moving from a qwerty board to T9 input. The upside, is that once you get used to it, you can text with decent speed, one-handed. As far as syncing the phone, if you have a PC with Bluetooth you can export your contacts to it. This method is free, and saves them as a vcard file, which can be imported in to just about any PIM. Bitpim may also have the M1 added

Not sure where you guys are getting your info about the number of texts stored on the M1. It lets you see the last 200 incoming and 180 outgoing sms messages while allowing you to send an sms message to up to 50 people at one time.
