Samsung Drift

I am seriously considering dropping Verizon and my vx8300 for Helio and the Drift. I live in the Los Angeles area and am curious about the quality of coverage and calls. For those who have used Helio, have you expericed many dropped calls or areas without any service. This phone is very enticing, yet the primary function of a cell phone is to make and receive calls. If anyone has any input it would be greatly appreciated...thanks
