Considering the Treo 680

I received an offer in the mail to get this phone for $75.00. 😳 I went to the store and tried it out. It seems pretty nice. I do not want to pay an extra $40.00 per month for PDA connect, but if I do I wonder if speed (non HSDPA) will become an issue. Also, has the battery issue been fixed? Therefore, I am trying to decide if I hate my Mpx220 enough to use my upgrade on this phone or if I should wait for a couple of months to see what else will be available. Someone suggested get the phone, keep pda connect for a while and drop pda connect if I don't like it. The Treo 750 is supposed to be out soon, but will probably cost a grip. What do you current Treo 680 owners think?

Where did you find it for 75$? I also do not need the internet and I will probably buy it with out the 100$ mail and rebate (total price=300$). I was considering the 750 but it will be 500 with out mail and rebate, for an extra 200 you are getting a better camera and faster ineternet if you really use it alot. Both will drain your battery more. You can also add a 20$ unlimited internet later and it will work fine with the 680, cingular reps wont let you because it is not for the 680 if you ask in stores, do it online.

Cingular sent me an offer in the mail for $75.00. I have no idea what made me qualify for it. I think it is through Cingular Premiere business. Thanks for your perspective. It makes a lot of sense. I'm going to try out the 750 to make a hands-on comparison.

Are you serious....200 gets you a better camera and inet and thats it????? The diff in speeds is huge...and the 750 has WM5 instead of palm os which is worth the diff by itself.

WM5 isnt that great, pretty well developed i admit fo the palm from what I see. But i dont see it having huge benefits over the palm os. I want to organize my life and call people. I wont be using the internet on my phone, and I dont think most will for an extra 40 dollars a month. So the extra speed is not a factor. Unless your company is footing the internet and email bill I say just pass it, cingular is ripping its customers off. ALso, if I wanted a camera to take pictures Id bring my 8 megapixel camera, not my 1.3 palm phone. Its great on the go but is some one really going to take pictures that often with it? The quality wont be that great. This is for the professionals whos company is paying for the internet bill and need to be connect...
