Problem with AT&T Treo 680 Bluetooth in Acura (JCI Handsfree Link)

by rphelliwell    Sep 29, 2007, 10:58 PM

I tried out an AT&T Treo 680 in my Acura RDX. I love the phone except that it gets confused about whether the call should be handled in the phone or with the car's handsfree. After handsfree setup, it seems to work fine. Then when I leave the car and receive a call, I can answer it with the phone, but then it goes to the car (not on or in range). I have to press the handsfree disconnect soft button on the screen. Then it appears to work normally. Later, when I get back in the car, it shows connected to the handsfree. When I receive a call, I can answer it with the handsfree controls, but it immediately goes to the phone. Again, I can press the handsfree connect soft button to send it back to the car's handsfree system, but this defeats the purpose of HANDSFREE. Does anyone have any idea how to avoid this problem? Does anyone know if Palm, JCI, AT&T, or Acura is even working on a fix and when it might be available?
