Proper data package

smack4ud

I see there has been some arguing as to which data package should be provisioned with the Samsung Blackjack, and the correct one is a PDA connect 39.99 unlimited plan. I'm gettin this straight from the proprietary Learning Edge lesson reuqired of all employees towards this new device. I do believe that other company owned stores are full of clowns that 1. are misinformed of the proper provisioning and dont ever read our assigned trainings or 2. they aren't confident in their sales skills and almost give up by giving a customer a unlimited data package like smartphone connect or a mediamax. The truth is we make more money by putting on a 40 dollar plan and some reps baby these customers into thinking that the data plans should cost less. ...

regardless of what "THEY" may tell you, a customer can put any plan he pleases on the device via a sales that rep that doesnt know or online. No need to argue if a sales rep says no to smartphone or mediaworks plan. You simply tell them you dont want a data plan and then go home and add it online.

Ok to clarify, data plans and msg plans are completely seperate things. If you get a mediamax bundle plan then data and msg are "bundeled" together. If you get just a pda connect or smartphone connect plan, then that doesnt include msg and you would need to also add a msg plan.

On a side note, just to let you know, you dont have to have a data plan or text msg plan with any phone you buy. Voice, data and msg are all 3 different things.

You can buy the bj and use it just as a voice device, you dont have to have a data plan or msg plan but if you use them without a plan, you will get charged pay per use.

what....dude all you did was add the 39.99 pda connect plan and 9.99 1000 txt msg plan and came up with 49.99. That is not a bundle plan. A bundle plan saves you a few bucks.

there is no longer a 1000 txt plan
it is 9.99 for 400 messages and 1 mb of internet
there is a PDA UNL Connect plan and a PDA MAX plan that carries the 1000 txt along with unlimited data
if u are an employee of cingular then look it up under MISC code MPP2

MEdia Max 3000 Bundle for 39.99 still saves 10 dollars over pda connect max plan...they just recently dropped the 1000 msg because they are looking to raise revenue and profit, its the reason they raised sms ppu to .15.

The only difference between the Media Max 200 Bundle, and the 39.99 Unl PDA is the fact that you use a WAP Browser instead of an ISP. I guarantee you wont notice a difference if you use the Media Net plan over the Unl PDA. You dont get any big advantages for paying twice as much for the PDA Package. Once noticeable difference is that certain websites wont come up full HTML on PIE, so you may want to download Opera Mini or Opera Mobile. With these browsers, every website you bring up will be full. I know people that have the Media Net package on their 8125, and 8525 and it works perfect. They havent been charged any outrageous fees!

Cingular does have teams watching for media bundles on their smartphones. They do not allow this on most PDA or BB devices.

Cingular's profit preferences aside, is there a speed difference among the three (PDA, SmartPhone, or Medianet)? Are all of them 3G?

there is higher bandwidth for the more you pay. But they are all 3G and all get in the same range of speed and nothing warrants paying the extra 20 dollars for pda connect.

Here is one tidbit: I believe you don't qualify for the rebate if you buy the phone from Cingular unless you put the 39.99 data plan in force. Not a big deal though..the $20/mo savings make up for the rebate quick

You do qualify for rebate you just have to havetotsl service over $39.00.

*requires activation on an unlimited Smartphone Connect plan plus a Cingular Voice Plan with a minimum monthly access rate of $39.99or higher.*

as a rep my understanding is this
u get the rebate from mail in but u WONT get the instant rebate of $40
and all u guys that think u can get away with the smaller packages go head do it
eventually they will catch it because the data on the other plans have ceilings even though it says unlimited thats only with the proper phone

if u didn't know the blackjack uses 10 times more data than a smart phone and 30 times more than a regular phone
so
u can get by for a bit but when they catch on u are forced to either a. refuse internet completely or even b. they will just adjust it to the proper plan for u and u will get a higher bill thats all
but u will have to pay for overages

trust it does happen
seen one the other day come ...

So because you're a "rep" you think you know eh? There is no instant rebate, there is 100 dollar mail in rebate. If you have an unlimited data plan, then that is all that matters. I had an unlimited data plan via medianet plan and got rebate on other pda's devices. The drones who handle rebates just look to see an unlimited data on the receipt. You wont get caught, thats a joke. And next time you type, do you think you could use a few periods, with complete thoughts?

LoL
obviously u are either a customer that thinks he knows it all
or your a terrible rep that knows half of what they teach u in these classes that we take each week
anyhow
IN STORE there is an instant rebate right now why don't u get off the computer and walk into a store and find it out for yourself
also u can have whatever plan u want on it
but like i said 3g uses a ton more data at the rate things are going media net unlimited is fine but they can see what devices use more data and will eventually see that the nokia 6010 associated on your account can't use up 60 gigs of data in a months time
so your fine with what u got now but like i said its gonna be more noticeable with the new network

rebates are a separate company ...

regardless of this magical 40 instant rebate, not signing up for the pda connect plan, you save 20 dollars a month going with 29.99 mediamax 1000 instead of pda connect (39.99) and 1000 text(9.99). so 2 months and this magic instant rebate has been covered and you continue to save 20 dollars for every month after.

I dont work for cingular but I know more about cell phones than any rep i have ever run into. Its sad when I have to inform reps about their own products in store.

No one will get caught and I'm sorry but 60 gigs of data in a month doesnt happen. 60 gigs is 61440 megabytes. The average user with a pda has somewhere between 200-700 megabytes. That's not even 1 gig...where do you get your crazy numbers from?

And if you...

200-700 megs huh
your crazy man i have been on myspace and plenty of other websites that use up 15 mbs just for that one page
so multiply that by daily use
15 mbs * 30days = 450mgs

but do u really think people only look at one page a day on there device no probably not
on top of that
why don't u start streaming xm radio or mobi tv of that thing and see what your usage is gonna be

your obviously one of those customers that know it all
and thats fine i deal with u kind of people on a daily basis.

A 15MB page!!!!! Are you crazy. Dude, you have no clue what you are talking about. You are just making yourself look silly. Even on 3G, a page that size would take 15+ minutes to download, 5 minutes or so on a home cable/dsl connection.
