Treo 650 to BlackJack
Any past Treo 650 users that switched to the BlackJack? I'm thinking of making the switch, interested to hear what you guys think about the switch to wm5 and lack of touchscreen.

i swtiched from the treo 700w with verizon. i like the size great sound quality solid construction. i don't really miss the touch screen with the track wheel. I also have used the BB 8700 and this phone i like the best.

im really against all wm5 smartphone editions. i really prefer the touchscreen and you cant do as much with the bj that you can do with the 650 or 680. Palm has docs to go to edit files/documents while bj can only view files. There is no editing with wm5 smartphone edition which is a major drawback for me.

I switched from a Treo 650 to the Blackjack and haven't regretted it at all. I swore I would always use the Palm OS and NEVER use Windows Mobile, but this device changes my mind. It feels a ton lighter than the treo and I like the keyboard much better after getting used to it. The big plus for me(besides 3G) is the side scrollwheel and back botton. Those 2 things make it much easier to navigate, especially without the touchscreen. I highly recommend going for it.

well glad you like your phone...if you arent aware...there is wm5 for ppc and wm5 for smartphones. the bj has wm5 smartphone edition which isnt as powerful as ppc edition. I like windows mobile ppc more than palm but like palm os more than smartphone edition. That is the big reason I am against the bj plus i just cant go without a touch screen. I had the 8700c and while I loved it, I just couldnt get over not having touchscreen and got rid of it. But to each, their own.

Hi everyone I am trying to decide between the Treo and a Blackjack. My boyfriend has the treo and i love the chat style messaging and i was wondering if you could tell me if the Blackjack has the same kind of messaging or if not what kind. I know this sounds trivial but i text message a whole lot. Thanks so much.

threaded sms is a palm app...not a windows app so i would assume no....there are always ways to add 3rd party apps but most dont integrate will with the phone and softkeys very well.
