ActiveSync Connection Problem

Hi Experts,
For the life of me, I cannot get a good connection to my blackjack from my laptop or my desktop at home using activesync.

I know that my wires, phone connection is fine because I can use my mom's laptop and synchronize using activesync.

I've been reading the manual, samsung's website, cingular website to find out more information on disenabling the firewall so that I get a connection. Nothing works. I've even turned off all norton virus programs and turned off the window firewall to see if I get a connection through activesync with no success.

Do you guys know of something that I can try other than disenabling my firewalls.

Thanks,
Dae

I've had a lot of problems connecting too. The only solution I've found thus far is reconnecting the phone until it works. Very frustrating, I know. Usually if I reconnect two or three times, it will sync. I just got the phone last week, and I haven't found any other solution yet. Good luck!

Hi erinlynn,

I figured out that my problem was due to my vpn installation on my computer. There is a bug where activesync does not work when you have vpn installed on your computer. My resolution was to remove vpn and then reinstall activesync.

Perhaps, for your issue, you may have an intermittent connector. Good luck with your problem.

I had same problem. On Microsoft WM site there's an article (serach "ActiveSync Firewall") that gives instructions for most popular firewalls (thay usually come with Anti-Virus packages) on how to add ActiveSync to exception list.

This solved my problem with ActiveSync and TrendMicro AV.

Hi, thanks for the feedback.. 🙂
My problem was that I had vpn installed on my laptop and my home computer. Once i removed them and reinstalled activesync, it worked fine. I was surprised to see that I couldn't find anything about this vpn problem.
