N95 Maybe coming to AT&T

I spoke with a "rep" today and he claimed that the N95 is on it's way to AT&T in September. The only change is the MORE secure slider feature and a longer battery life.....everything else is the same. Also check out:

Your story lost credibility when you said you spoke to a "rep". They are 99.99999999999% clueless.

why wouldn't a rep know a lot about phones. That's all they do all day. Unlike your pretentious self, who just claims to own "the motherload of all phones". congradulations.

there is rumors of a September release. Yahoo. It's still gonna cost nearly $800 bucks. No thanks.

Not only do I claim to own the motherload of all phones, its a fact. I do own the N95. Prententious? No, just knowledgeable. Unlike every rep. They know nothing. AT&T will never carry the N95 in its current state, as it is a European phone.

When it comes to phones and all the functions and them explaining them to you, yes they are retards. I'm kinda getting the same feeling about you too. Take care and enjoy your branded/locked phone.

wow. you must really hate at&t reps. that sux. cuz i'm an at&t rep and i find myself to be quite knowledgeable about most things that we do carry. i don't pretend to know everything but i do learn what i can about whatever is presented in front of me. you however seem to be a model cell phone guru who automatically knows everything about anything mobile like your european phone the N95 that does work in america and can be purchased. though it is unlocked it does work on MY at&t network. so i guess it isn't totally european is it. a quad-band phone doesn't really belong to any country or continent does it. a true european version of a phone is usually a tri-band model that has 900, 1800, and 1900 with the lack of the 850. that is a "european"...

It sure does have 850. But the 3G is European, hence it is a European phone, first and foremost. Noice how the European carriers sell this phone with a contract, but US carriers do not? Or are you to enamored with yourself to realize that?

That version hasn't officially been announced. Nor has the version with 8GB of internal memory. But they are coming.

Well I don't know, maybe I work for AT&T? We'll just have to see who's crazy when the phone hits the stores. 😁

I dont care who you work for, that really carries no weight. I'm just saying that is being very presumptious. I hope they do get it. But if it does, it wont be anytime soon. Nokia and ATT have a tentative at best, especially considering what happened to the N80 and N75. I am just saying dont get your hopes up and dont automatically assume things.

Hmmmn, let me see who's assuming. I have 3 Engineers, plus my self, testing the US version as we speak. We get the phones from the manufacturers before they are even announced. We tell the manufacturers if the phones are a go or no go. So tell me that carries no weight? Dream on dude!!!

And your tests and software are so screwed up. Thats why unbranded and unlocked phones work so much better. I dont dream. I just use my n95 everyday. Put that in your testing pipe and smoke it.

Have I said anything that wasnt true? No. The N80 was made specifically for ATT but due to your "testing" it was never carried, however i works fine on the network. When you get a clue, let me know, ok?

I mean, I can only use two other carriers. Edge Wireless and T-Mobile. I don't like the coverage of either. AT&T isn't available in Eastern Idaho yet. Next month my contract is UP and I've gotta make a choice on a new phone. I'll probably go with Alltel, cause my construction co-workers use it, and I'm also a part time rep for t-mo, alltel and sprint.

Alltel may be your best bet. If need be, you could (I think) roam off Verizon's towers in a pinch, plus you would get more minutes/goodies for less money. What current GSM phone do you have/use? I have the N95 and SE K550, the white version. To touch on the US version of the N95 - even if ATT does get it, I wont. They left off the camera lens cover, and if it gets scratched, you've ruined 5MP of goodness. I would rather have the 5MP SE K850 to go along with my current N95.

Alltel has roam agreements with VZW and full data and voice roam agreements with Sprint.

Yeah, I just bid on a Blackberry 7250 for about 80 bucks shipped. (I can't afford anything fancy just yet. My Car is in the shop!)

I currently have a unlocked Moto V551, and as much as I have grown accostmed to knowing everything about it, it's time for change, and I think an old blackberry will be ok for now.

I WOULD LOVE to have an N95. Dreamphone, but only the Euro model, of course.

because it's better than the N95 that's being released here in the states. The iPhone is cool, but the ultimate phone on the market today is definately the N95, if you know phones.

Oh they made some major improvements in the US N95. More RAM, bigger battery and of course US 3G. All in all, that will make it the better phone. The 8GB also got the new amount of RAM and bigger battery, as well as a bigger screen. The US version left off the camera lens cover, which is a deal breaker for me. I have yet to see the back of the 8GB version though. I sure would like to have a V551 as a handy little back up phone though 🙂

I got an unlocked V551 for 50 shipped on ebay. That's about how much I'm going to sell it for when my blackberry comes in the mail.

Ok, now I want the US version. Lens cover? Meh. I'm careful with phones, and I'd get a leather case for it anyhow.

It's in great condition. I paid 50, but I also bought an extended battery for it, a car charger, leather case, another wall charger, and a usb cable for it. Very accesoried. (is that even a word?)

We'll keep in touch.
