Hi dimmy, I just got my N95 last week. It works well in the Southern California. My carrier is T-Mobile and I also have the data plan 29.99 per month. GPS works fine, email account works great. Reception is excellent. The only thing is you have to get used to the GPS system. It detects the satellites kind of slow. Besides this, everythign else is excellent. I got my on eBay for only 639.99 and the nokia is made in Finland. 🙂

1.) The reception is fine but that also depends on your carrier and your location. I live in So Cal.
2.) I have the 5.99 T-Zones plan, and the internet speed is ok (not in a bad way).
3.) The battery lasts me the whole day at least few bars left on the battery. I don't consistently play with the phone. However, I do click email and surf the web few times a day.
4.) I am using T-Mobil USA with 5.99 plan (BTW thanks robcosys for your info)
5.) Awesome! Make sure you get at least 2 Gig SD Card as I am gonna run out of space soon. The 1 gig that comes with package just doesn't cut it. I store some musics, podcasting, photos and some 3rd party apps. In fact I am hoping that SanDisk will release the 4 Gig version soon. The speakers are ...

I'm a cingular user, but I'm very glad it's working for you. Does the GPS work on the US? I can't find the link again, but somewhere I vaguely remember seeing the GPS may not be supported here...which defeats the whole point of having GPS in the first place.
Long story short, I have an 8525, hate windows, and want to go back to symbian. I just need to balance out the pros and cons...no GPS would be a big con.

The GPS will work disregard of which carrier. You can use its build-in Map. But you will have to download the maps via Wifi before you can actully use it (at www.smart2go.com). I wouldn't know the detail because like i said in other post, I switched to Route66 instead.

Most of you have T-mobile but Cingular told my friend that an N95 won't work on their network. I am coming to you to confirm their retardation in the matter. Am I correct in assuming that the sales rep didn't know what he's talking about or is there now something proprietary about Cingular's GSM?

I am not laughing at you, so dont be offended. But I am laughing at the idiot who told you that. My N95 works great on Cingular.

Ok, guys! If I buy this phone unlocked, who can you activate it with? Does the provider change the software to meet their criteria?
