Why not just give us a firmware update?

I don't know if anybody else feels the same way about this as I do, but I think it's total crap that AT&T doesn't offer the rest of us a firmware update which will give us the features of the "Tab Top." Instead they offer it as a different version of the same phone. Now while I still don't truly understand this "Tab Top" setup, I would gladly take a firmware update. If this were the iPhone, it sure as hell would get an update.
