You must get the AT&T branded version. Why!

I finally noticed that the AT&T version can do data and voice much better than the Cingular branded version. On the cingular N75 it cuts the data off, which was annoying. Also my phone does not get that hot anymore. Yesterday I got 6 hours of heavy usage. I used Cingular video, made phone calls, played music, used the nokia web browser, media net, etc.. I will let you know from my log how much data was transmitted. I also suggest that you ask warranty exchange for a new battery because the one that ships with the phone is defective. I only got 2 hours or less with the battery shipped with the phone. When I got the BL-4B battery it worked much better. Please let me know if you do warranty exchange and what happens. Just rememmber to...

If you have AT&T or Cingular service and it is a cingular branded phone, plus you signed a contract, you are entitled to a warranty exchange. If it is unlocked I have no idea what you should do.

I know they suck! I would try warranty exchange again. Just tell them that the sim card does not stay in place and you have dropped calls. It works every time!!! I may it do it 10 more times just to mess with them. Maybe i might get a AT&T/Cingular/BS branded phone! Software version BS!

I've tried using the same excuse more than once and one lady told me I had to go to a store to verify the defect. I told her no way, was I gonna waste time in a store to verify you sent me a broken phone. I just sent back the broken phone.

I understand your concern, but it actually is not fraud. My N75 has dropped calls, the sim card does not stay in place, the battery is defective, and 3G capibilty is not up to par. I think it is fraud that I pay $59.99 plus, $24.99 data, 2.99 roadside assistance, $4.99 insurance, and cannot make a decent phone call. That is the real rip off! And Pennyless10 why are you even sticking up for AT&T and not the consumer. Do they pay your rent? Do they make your dinner? Consumers should have the right to have a product that is capable of doing what it says. Not a piece of crap phone or service. I am not trying to argue with you but lets be realistic.

LMAO... the sim card doesnt stay in its place because its spring loaded so when ever you take out the battery (and only when you take out the battery) it ejects ITSELF, you get dropped calles because the antenna is in the bottom of the phone and you have your hand covering it, and you want to exchange the phone because you don't like the fact that 2 months after you got your N75 there is a newer better version on the market!!

That is not the case. The sim card does not stay in place is true, which causes an infrequent signal. I have read the manual and i know where the antenna is and I do not block it and I still get dropped calls. What does LMAO mean? I am not a teenager so please let me know. Also please leave this post because you are not welcomed with your hatred and corporate talk. I posted this message to help others not start an argument with you. Thank you!

lmao= laugh my @$$ off...

think of it this way, every time you exchange your phone ATT bites the bullet... creating more cost to ATT means raising prices for its existing customers meaning that if YOU exchange your phone I pay for it

no comment. i thought i told you that you were not welcomed on this post. also i have only exchanged my phone once. Also I guess that is why AT&T offers free phones. I guess that is why there is online discounts. You sound more or less like the x-files of the cellphone world.

Tell you what, I sent my phone back several times. Pennyless says that it raises prices for the consumer? I doubt that, it let's AT&T know that they are making a faulty phone and to drop the price, which they have done on the corporate website.

nope not at all, i've actually had my n75 swapped out five times now since may because of little problems. What made me mad was they sent me the att branded one that was broken and then sent me another cingular branded one. I've never had to exchange any of my phones in seven years of owning cell phones. So this has been pretty frustrating. They offered me a new 6555 in exchange but i didn't want it.

I totally agree with you! I guess the best thing to do now try and sell your phone. I think if enough of us start to complain then hopefully the N75 will be recalled. The phone is great in some areas but suck in many other area significantly.

I can't agree more to all the above posts. It is frustrating that AT&T doesn't realize there is a problem with this phone. I am on my 5th phone as well. Same issues as everyone describes(phone freezes, battery life problems, battery gets hot, etc...) One bit of information Ill add thanks to a cust service rep: there is a recall in the state of Arizona for the Nokia N75 b/c the phones were freezing up. I asked how could that be, aren't phones equipped with same software, he says no, different markets in the US receive slightly different versions. Not sure how much that happens, but I have the Cingular branded phone w/ Ver 10.1.273, which appears to be what the first release was? Either way, if ARI has a recall, I believe ppl experiencing the ...

Well according to cs rep, they are both up to date...But they are different software versions. I can't remember what the software version of the att one I had for about 1 day was, but it is listed in a previous post. Honestly I might just go out and get a 6555, i think i'm gonna have to give up on this phone. I waited like seven months for this thing to be released, and I've now had six different phones (five exchanges), and have had problems with them all. I'm getting tired of having to waste my time, redownloading everything, reset everything, make trips to the post office to send phones back, sit on the phone with cs for new phones and credits on downloaded apps, etc. blah blah blah
