Unbranding Your N75 Is Possible!

You can now unbrand your N75. You must unlock your phone before starting. You will lose MobiTV and have to reinstall and reset some of your programs, but unbranding increases your RAM to about 35mb and activates A2DP. Use at your own risk, because there is no going back.

Nemesis Service Suite. It allows you to change the phone's product code.

I already have an unbranded phone, so I don't know what you will lose, but I know you will not be able to use MobiTV.

Installed NSS .. modified the product code to 0541358, NSU still doesn't find the update ... is that really the product code to use?

Yes, the code is right. You must have your phone subsidy unlocked first.

Are you saying that I have to get the Cingular/At&T dudes to give me the unlock code for the phone ... and do that prior to the rest?

Yes. You can't unbrand the phone using NSU without unlocking first. ๐Ÿ˜‰

so let me get this straight ๐Ÿคจ your unbranding your phone to do what...?? and if you need to have it unlocked by ATT then whats the point of continuing with the rest of the process... especially since you will have a Cingular jack logo underneath both screens anyways...

Unbranding has to do with the firmware. After unbranding the firmware you can set the phone for dual-band, for only 3g or only GSM. You will get A2DP and not be restricted on the length of ringtones. You will gain RAM space and the menus seem to run faster. I love my unbranded model.

I want the a2dp support ... plus I'm blind and run software that speaks the screens to me ... so getting rid of any extra junk in the phone memory will make that work better.

Changing the bands ... does that save any battery?

๐Ÿ™„ your crazy for 1 NOKIA even says that there is no update to give the N75 A2DP and when they do you will have to send your phone into them... so thats impossible,
second>> switching to only 3g or edge just handicaps the phone by not giving it the ability to switch to whatever has a stronger signal
3rd)you cant use CV or MobiTV on your phone further decreasing its capabilities...
and lastly in the forum you sent everyone to the guy who posted it doesnt have the n75 under his list of phones... so your making this up and thats just not cool... ๐Ÿ™„

I unlocked my N75, changed the product code to 0541358 and used NSU to update my firmware to 10.2.055, which all went successfully. Now when I try to install any kind of application, I usually get a message which states "Certificate Expired", or "Certificate error". Anyone else experience this? Any ideas how to fix this?

It will not vibrate while charging. You may have to go into different menus to set it up than you were use to on the branded version.

Pennyless10, I do know what I am talking about. I have unbranded more than one branded phone and have enjoyed the phones much more than the branded version. Take a look at HowardForums.com for more information on de-branding.

So, A2DP does work .. and it seems like the rest is now working for you. What did you lose as goes the Cingular/AT&T stuff...Did you have to reinstall any applications or modify settings? And finally, how did you get the unlock code for your phone. AT&T isn't being very usefull in getting this. Telling me I have to add the international calling features to my account ... and who knows what else ...

nobody has been dooped except you for acting a fool. the debranding works perfectly, and you get TRUE a2dp, not mono sounds in the left and right channel. read up on that link he posted, the thread is huge at this point from everybody debranding successfully.

i'm not sure how many of you are acually having a problem with A2DP on the n75, but the cingular version that i purchased comes stock with A2DP. i know because i have one and i use it. also i sell it so i know what most of the things it come with. if your phone does not have A2DP then you a defective phone. the A2DP, being the stereo bluetooth works just fine in my Motorola H550 bluetooth headset, i listen to XM all day on it. its bluetooth 2.0 and A2DP. i hope that this helps all people that read the post about N75 and A2DP with Cingular and at&t

You are so wrong! Your Motorola H550 is a regular bluetooth headset not a stereo bluetooth headset. A stereo headset e.g. Samsung SBH170 stereo Bluetooth headset or the Nokia's HS-12W Wireless Stereo Headset. These are A2DP bluetooth stereo devices. I can hear music on my Nokia BH 800 but it is mono and not stereo. So you are totally wrong. The quality on a regular bluetooth headset is totally different compared to stereo bluetooth device. Also my opinion is that everybody needs to chill about the A2DP because most of the earphones do not last long and they can be humongous. Secondly its Nokia's duty to send us an Update to address the A2DP issue since they stuck us with that damn propriety port and not a 3.5 headphone jack. Hope t...

Hi xkaliber2782,
Sorry if you thought I had an attitude. I just thought you should know that A2DP is something different. Also that bluetooth will work on a bluetooth headset but it will not have stereo sound as if it had A2DP.

Just found this linked to Howardfoums.com. well for the doubters out there, i debranded my n75 about 3 weeks ago, and the phone is 5 times better. you DO get A2DP, not just mono sounds in both ears like the branded cingular version. you also get to chose 3G vs GSM network. for the person who said this limits the phone, it does the opposite. i live in a non-3g area, and my phone constantly searches for a 3g signal, reducing the battery life. some days i lock on to 3g when in an area, others i lock on to gsm. this option is a necessity. also for those on a fringe 3g/gsm area, where the phone keeps flipping back and forth, this is a godsend. this increases battery life if you lock on to gsm by double.

TO: pennyless10, you need to ch...
