UMTS vs. HSDPA

So from what I gather, this phone is capable of UMTS, but not HSDPA correct?

What is the difference in speed between UMTS and HSDPA? Is it possible Nokia could add HSDPA as an OTA update in the future or will the phone not be capable of HSDPA?

HSDPA is to UMTS as Edge is to GPRS, the next step.

The version of symbian on this phone doesn't support HSDPA.. However I guess if they wait long enough to release it it might be released with the new version.. Feature pack1

UMTS has data speeds of between 300 and 500 kbps a rate 2 to 3 times that of Edge. HSDPA has speeds (currently) of 500 - 700 kbps, a rate 4 to 5 times that of Edge. Cingular's network is capable of 3.6 Mbps which is capable with the HSDPA overlay on top of the UMTS network. However, phones usually run in the 400 - 700 kbps range. A new laptop card coming out soon will run a 3.6 Mbps, a feature of HSDPA
