This phone looks, at least on paper, identical to the Samusung A707. I have a a707 and I absolutely love it. This phone, spec wise, seems like the Samsung's match. the only thing I can tell is that it's extremely ugly.
...
This phone is totally different. Its a smartphone, with Symbian OS. You cant compare the Sammy to this phone. Its like comparing apples to oranges.
...
how did you get the phone?
...
I dont have the phone. Did I say something to make anyone think I had the phone?
...
I work for Cingualr, that's how I got one.
But I do know that the N75 runs the Symbian (smartphone) OS. I was referring to the Specs.
...
I one of those guys who uses two devices. I currently use a w810, and a Blackberry 8700 for business.
I think most people will like the A707 more because of the price and the fact that most people hate smartphones. Those people who use smartphones will take the N75, but I'm waiting until next May when the hsdpa version of the N75 is released!!
...
That's kind of ironic, I actually carry my 8700c for work and my w810 for personal (now I carry the a707).

đ man i can't stand blackberry's. why don't ya'll get the E62? Sooooo much better. But I must say I'm a Symbian man and wouldn't trade it for the world. Well except my Dealer line Cingular 2125. no qwerty but size is more important. N75's gunna kick some butt. Samsung's too "happy" in it's menu...and the nightmare of the zx-10 still haunts me. In my market I received an email stating that the A707 got recalled due to music sync issues did anyone else hear of this? -J
...
It was a simple glitch that has already been corrected. I tried the e62, but the delay between changing menus was WAY TOO S_L_O_W. And yes, the zx-10 was an absolute piece. But I assure you, the SYNC is awesome. Do your self a favor and try it, you will not be disapointed.

I currently have the LG CU500 and I will be switching to the Samsung A707 tomorrow or Friday. I liked the CU500 at first but then all the little things I don't like about the phone started to really bug me. Plus, it won't accept the 1gb microsd memory card I bought for it but the Motorola L7, Motorola V3i, and Samsung D807 all accepted my 1gb card. Later.

That's kind of weird, but you are making an excellent choice. If you get a chance, compare the size and clarity of the screen between the cu500 and the a707. The difference is mind blowing. PUERTO RICO!!
...
cu500 was a piece in my book. that LG acknowledgement tone drives me nutS!!! how's the battery life on the phone? that's the most important aspect in my book!
...
The only gripes I have about the CU500 is:
1. That LG acknowledgement tone after sending texts
2. The ascending ringtone
3. It won't accept my memory card
Other than that I don't really have any other major complaints. The battery will only last two days with normal usage. Now normal usage to me is about 5-6 MMS, 100-150 SMS, 500KB-1MB of data usage and roughly 2 hours on the phone. This is my normal daily usage which of course changes on a day to day basis but this is it since I've had the CU500. later.

Is the external screen not a 65K color display? âšī¸

I know someone who owns the LG CU500 and has installed a 1GB card into it and there has not been any problems. If your phone's having problems w/ the memory card, then there might be an issue w/ the phone itself. Trouble shoot it or get it exchanged, if you can. Good Luck! đ
Aside from that, I am a proud Nokia owner who truly believes that the N75 will outshine and outperform the SYNC! I'm a big fan of samsung and I admire their innovations, but those of us who enjoy the many conveniences that smartphones offer us, will most likely agree that the N75 will be a smokin' hot item if Cingy releases it to the market!
...
I'm not a big symbian fan, so that wouldn't enter into my thoughts on getting this phone, as far as a smartphone I have a Treo 750 which is use for work. I want something small to carry around and supports 3g. I can wait in no rush to get another phone, but I won't wait forever and the Sync does look like a decent alternative. And maybe the V3xx.

The A707 would be awsome if not for a few shortcomings:
- can't suspend Java apps: with all the memory it has why on earth not implement it? With the speed, the screen and the built-in browser (+Opera Mini) it begs to be the perfect portable mini web platform. On my Razr I just close the flip when I gotta stop and it automatically suspends any Java app. Easy to continue where I left off.
- no HID protocol in Bluetooth: can't sync to BT GPS, this is the only thing preventing it to be a lightweight mapping GPS
