3G Sim

My kids recently both upgraded their phone and got 3G phones. They were given a new sim card for 3G phones. We purchased the phones at a Cingular store. Does anyone know if you purchase a 3G phone on-line, will they send you a 3G sim card? Do you need a 3G sim card? Will an existing sim work in a 3G phone? This was the only reason I did not purchase this phone when I saw it this morning. Now that it is showing as out of stock I'm pissed. 😈

i checked my order status. i ordered just minutes after it showed up online last night. it says that the order will include a phone and a sim card. i'm not a new customer, it's just an upgrade, so perhaps you do need a new sim? the part i don't understand is if you get a new sim with the new phone, at what point will the old sim in the old phone be deactivated? hopefully not before i receive the new phone, or i'll have to go ape shyt on cingular.

also, my order shows the phone as "backordered". I don't understand how something that cingular says is "in stock" when i bought it, only minutes after it appeared online, could be on backorder now. I had to have been one of the first (hundred lol) to order this phone, which was still available a...

for a 3G phone or at least with my 3G Moto V3xx, which I have returned, a new 3G sim came in the phone. When your new 3G phone arrives, use the new 3G sim card that is in the new phone and call Cing/ATT to activate. At that time your old sim card will deactivate.

I was about to order today after lunch and it the N75 was GONE!! Well..........what' new with the ups and downs with this phone since last Fall

It's like he said. Last week my brother ordered his Blackjack online and it came with a 3G Sim card. His original card worked in the phone but he brought it in to a Cingy store so they could activate the phone with the new card. The rep told him that 3G won't work with the old Sim card.

The new 3G Sim from Cingy is more secure that is why they want to get the sim in as many phones as they can.

It is harder to clone, and they can limit you doing things not being paid for, or that is the way I have understood the explaination.

But Cingy will not share that and most CSR's have no idea. Cingy have been shipping 3G cards for 3 years if you look on the card both sides it may shed some light.

The 6126 is not a 3G phone so you didnt need to get new sim cards for it.
