(THE FOLLOWING IS HEAR SAY AND THERE FOR A RUMOR IT IS NOT FACT, THOUGH THERE IS SOME PROOF, IT IS STILL CONSIDERED RUMOR)

My cingular rep came by to let me know that he thinks that the N75 may now be post poned indefintely, it has been taken off the price sheets for April, and though was supposedly on the website for a short short time was taken off as well, so now there is no SKU for it, its also been taken off the new rebate forms. So he's thinking Cingular/ATT backed out and now will not ever be carrying this phone, also they are aproving the n95 for cingular, so he thinks why would they release the n75 when the N95 is better....if this is true then i don't know

Screw them, I think I will wait for the new SE Z750, looks real nice.

The N95 would be great, might be a tad too expensive and I want something with a smaller footprint.

Ok, I won the lottery. I picked "never" as the release date back in February. I was only half joking at the time, because a phone that is delayed for 6 months, but is "for sure" coming out "in the next few weeks", month after month, there is something wrong. Recently I've been suspecting that there is some major flaw with the phone itself, like it kills kittens if it gets too close or something. So I'm not surprised. Looks like I'm keeping my 3g moto.

God.. Cingular stinks.. bunch of mouth breathing morons..

Hopefully, if they did screw it up, then Nokia will just release an unbranded version.. that would be nice..

According to Engadget the phone retails in Europe for 550 Euros. Converted to USD that's $732.55. Of course that's not including taxes.

I said several weeks ago that Cingy had said yes to the N95 but the facts are still the same. The N95 has only recently started shipping and even then before it comes to the US market it needs a few mods to make it compatible with US networks (US 3G runs different bands) The future will be 5 band phones to include 2100 but that may be hard in the US. Not to mention the 2 phones are different and have a different market Candy Bar vs. Flip. Why not just mod the N73 and release it today.

Sadly you are limited if you want US 3G speed, and if you want a smartphone and NOT a PDA type device with keyboard like the treo blackjack or 8525 then you have to wait like the rest of us. The SYNC, V3xx LG and so on are phones with 3G NOT the same ...

All I can say is that half the time the Reps don't know what is going on. He/She probably heard it from someone else. The truth is, w/ Cingular, no one ever knows when a phone will drop until it's in the stores or on the website.

I'm happy to report that I've moved on and Purchased a BlackJack that I'm quite happy with.

As for rest of the ppl holding out for this phone, I wish you lots of luck. But I'll advise you all to look at other phones, and try to keep an open mind.

The reason Cingy does not make the release date general info to the reps is PR. If they say a phone is coming next week and it does not it creates a PR Problem. "Imagine if that were happening here lol"
The point is I am told the difference between an official statement by reps and a general comment are different. When you talk to MOST reps, ask where the info comes from. I bet it is from reading some BS on the boards. But there are a few within Cingy that know someone with the correct info and then you need to piece it together to see. I was told the end of the month or early next month, 2-3 weeks in March. It still looks possible but if it is not out on April 6th then I guess I will just move on. I trust my rep he has been pretty ...

Well, yes and no. The policy is you can only trade once on your upgrade, which would be trying 2 phones. If you return the second, you have to wait for your upgrade eligibility to be restored, which they say could take 4 weeks, but for me last fall it took 2 1/2 months. Very frustrating. Btw, I gave up one this one in Feb, but remained interested if it did ever come out. Got the V3xx, and am happy with it.

Interesting never knew that. I have traded a phone more than once and never had a problem. Although my accounts are business with Corp discounts and it has certain benefits. Can still pay full amount and trade and not use the 2 year upgrade offer then 30 days still apply. It just becomes a cash transaction and you get your money back right away. Loads of phones with Cingy under $300.

If this is true, this is great news! 😁 Here's why. Cingular says, sorry Nokia, we don't want your N75. Nokia says: Ok, we're going to dump them on the market. CTI-Miami and Negri Electronics says: We'll take a bunch, and discount them. Honzik says: I'll take one, unlocked if you please.

My point: The N75 will get on the market somehow. A move by Cing-Cing to quash the phone will mean more phones on the market without the C-man's cr4pware on it.

Well I'm waiting patiently as well for the N75. I can upgrade my nokia 6230 now! It's so hard waiting when I could get a blackjack or a blackberry now...

Anyway, there is a Cingular store near me that at least I think half way knows what they are talking about. Anyway, just a few days ago, the Nokia rep came in the store with the N75. I'm still holding off.

I don't think they will can this one. By the way, I still see it on the rebate form at cingular.com. 🙂

I just may wait and get the SE Z750, that looks real nice, don't really need another smartphone, happy enough with my treo 750 and even thats going for a wm6/hsdpa upgrade later this year. Sad, this is a nice phone, could have captured sales, now new stuff is coming out via other brands and some of this is real nice.

A friend of mine has the Treo 750. He's got sort of mixed feelings about it, but has started to like it more once I helped him get his Google Mobile Maps hooked up to a bluetooth GPS. (He first borrowed my GPS, and now he bought his own.)

If your interested, I posted a how to on the Treo 750 forum....

BTW, CTI - Miami still has an ETA of April 6th, and Negri Electronics has an ETA of April 15th for the N75. It's interesting to note that the original price on CTI-Miami was $405, but now gone up to $479, presumably due to the high interest. N-E has them for $588.
Simoncells has them for $900 (good luck...)
