i switched to the a-707 and and my mp3 ringtones that worked on my other mp3 capable phone dont work on it. Samsung.com said they need to ne 600kb or less. they are all under 500kb. 1 out of 50 worked and they all meet the requirements. Am I doing something wrong?

Mp3 format is not accepted on the Samsung Sync. Even if you have mp3 ringtones, you can check the properties on that ringtone and you will see that it is in another format. The Samsung Sync only accepts a different format of audio file and I can't remember the name of it.

I beg your pardon but my Sync has had several custom MP3 ringtones and the properties agree. The format you are prolly trying to think of is MMF and its tonal quality sounds like an old tin can phone and is not even worth the trouble to convert.
BTW, MMF is only used for incoming text message tones. MP3s won't work there; is that what you're thinking maybe?

Yes. I was thinking of the MMF format. I was looking at two of the ringtones that I purchased for my Samsung Sync and when I looked at the properties, they said in the filename that they were mp3, but the format said otherwise.

A dude on another Sync Forum (thesynchole.com) is making a 4shared(dotcom) site with about 4500 MP3 ringtones under 300Kb. Here is a partial list - he is still working on it. Enjoy!
