I'm having a devil of a time -- I've never used bluetooth before, but my parents Motorola bluetooths work fabulously with their RAZRs.

I love this u740 but so far, I have had nothing but cruddiness with the bluetooth headsets.

I have tried:
Motorola H700
Motorola H500
Plantronics 655

None of these are cheap headsets mind you -- the plantronics one is $120.

But I get nothin but static -- with the motorola headsets, I had static even when I was even holding the phone so it wasn't a distance issue. The Plantronics fared a little bit better - with the phone right on me or next to me, it sounded great, until I walked about 5 feet away

If anyone finds a headset that works well with this phone, PLEEASE share which one ya have....

I have not even tried one yet, but plan to this week. I have been told that the plantronics 510 Voyager (which sells for less than $50 on amazon) is one of the best and plan to try it first. I've also heard the plantronics 640 is good but not a great history with Samsungs.

I am currently using a Motorola H500 headset that I have had for about 1 year now and it works great. Sound quality is good and signal strength is good too. I don't know why you are having so much static.

GOT IT!! FINALLY. Sheeshkabobs

Samsung's WEP200 works!!
Shoulda known - they prolly did somethin intentionally so that you had to buy their brand

The WEP is tiny. It's butt ugly if you look at it online, but when you actually buy it, it is absolutely TINY (and I mean TINY). And its very stylish looking. $89 at bestbuy, but it is only in the $50s on Amazon.com (I bought mine at Best Buy cuz I'm too impatient) 😁

For me, it fits very well. I usually hate ear buds (ie for headsets) b/c they hurt, but oddly, this ear piece is comfortable for me (the earpiece for the Plantronics 655 was comfortable for me too). I use the small ear piece and it fits in nicely, comfortably and actually stays in place. It comes with small, medium, and large ear pieces

And its sooo light -- the thing measures less than 1 inch in length - and no more than a half inch wide. Thing is so tiny, I'm half scared I'm going to lose it.

Oh, and on the off chance it was an individual phone problem, I had also exchanged my phone for another one - that wasn't an issue - the new phone didn't work with any of the other brands.

I am using an older Motorola HS820 bluetooth headset with no problems. Make sure you pair it with your phone in a quiet place and adapt the digits with your voice. Then, turn up the volume setting in the voice control menu and turn down the rejection sensitivity, also in that menu.

Mine works great!

I figured I'd bump this thread to the front page because I'm in this situation, and someone else as well.

I've tried the Blueant Z9 and Plantronics 655 and would not recommend them with this phone.
