Samsung SCH-U740 Alias

I recently switched from Sprint to Verizon, and noticed something with the call quality. First off the clarity is better, but I noticed the sound seems to only be there when someone is talking. Meaning if someone is talking to me I can hear them very clearly, and if there is something going on in the background, I can hear it too, like if they were in a restaurant I could hear people talking, and plates banging, but if the person stopped talking to me, there was no noise, no background noise, nothing, until the person talked again then I could hear them, and the background noise again.
