Samsung SPH-M610

hi, I love my 610. Ive had it for about 7 months now. But someone please help me with a situation! I stuck a 1gb memory card in there and it wont save pics to it. I thought I corrupted the first one I bought, but being I work at a store that cells memory cards, I returned it for another card. but once again the card wont except anything on my phone. But it gets weirder than that. I move pics to the card from phone memory, even though it says there isn't any pics on the card, I can take it out, put it in my card reader, open it up. And the pics show up in the folder on my computer!!
So I know they are being saved to it, but my phone is not letting me see them. And even when I select Memory card in my albums, it beeps and says, card empty.

Has anyone encountered this before, and how do i fix it.

Also, the problem doesn't stop there.

I go into tools, then Mass Storage, when in there I select memory card, Theres nothing, so I click options, and choose powerlist, which i have no clue what this is..and when in there if i push ok, my phone shuts down.
