Sprint Mobile Email on the M610
I am running sprint mobile email on my M610 and pulling email from Gmail and MSN. I have push and notify turned on. When an email comes in I am supposed to get an audible alert on my phone, but I do not. If the phone is open then a visual alert does show.
One quarter of sprint tech support says it should work and another quarter says the phone doesnt support it. (The other half of sprint tech support tells me to replace the string connecting my two cans.)
Does anyone have audible notifications from Sprint Mobile Email working on their M610?
Is there a third party application thru which I can accomplish this?

the only email i have seen that the notifications work with is the sprintpcs mail.
this has nothing to do with the email, but the fact that you can setup a notification from the sprint site.
this tells the email system to send you a text message informing you of your email. you WILL want unlimited text messaging on your plan for this.
the next step would be to see if your other email providers have a feature like that.

Its weird, Sprint uses the same program (Seven) as Cingular, who I tried before Sprint. I was notified on my Cingular phone, but that functionality didnt work at Sprint.
In any case, I took the phone back and cancelled my sprint service after 20 days. Not due to the email, but the consistently painful experiences that I had with Sprint Customer Service.
