Unlocked 750 questions

I am currently I'm a T-mobile customer and I am just curious to know, if I purchase an unlocked 750v or a 750 from cingular unlocked will I still be able to use the internet and all other features and will the phone still work properly even though I'm using it on T-mobile. I've never used an unlocked PDA, if someone can help me out I would really appreciate it.

Thanx
Jason

Yes you can. You just need to modify some data settings on the Treo to reflect Tmobile network settings. Thanks

I'm not familiar with the TMO network but this is how it will work. If TMO has UMTS/HSDPA, you will get the broadband speed just like how you would have it with Cingular. Although from what I've read so far, the Treo will launch w/o the HSDPA but will be upgradable. We'll have to see next week when it launches. If TMO does not have UMTS/HSDPA, you should be able to access their GSM/EDGE network and have EDGE data speed. It's still decent speed for casual internet surfing.

I have the Treo 750 in the southern California area. I am on T Mobile. The phone works great. I don't get the high speed UMTS here so can't comment on that. I do access the web and get email without a problem.

This phone is also easy to get unlocked and can be done for like $20, so if you see a good price on a Cingular/AT&T one and don't mind their logo on the back which would be covered if in a case anyway, look around.

Palm has no plans of putting this phone out in TMO's up and coming 1700 umts, if it was me, I'd find the cheapest legit price and go with it. The phone has been out well over a year, and I'm sure one can be had for a decent price.

I don't know them, but if you're OK with and know the IRC, goto the efnet and #pocketpc there are people there who use WM phones (not the 750 but the settings are the same) and will be able to help you.
