More bad news for my fellow Treo 750 fans

My Cingy source confirmed that Cingular has not yet approved the release of Treo 750's due to numerous bugs that Palm has yet to address. Cingy is being really careful not to have a repeat of the Treo 650 fiasco. There's no truth to previous reports of HSDPA problems or network compatibility issues that was causing the delay. The real deal is Palm needs to get their act together and deliver a quality phone considering the Treo 750 will cost some major $$$$$$ when it is released. So as most of you fellow Treo fans patiently waiting for this thing, all we can do is wait and be patient and it will be worth all the wait.

So is it safe to say that if the same problem the Treo 650 has/had is also in the Treo 750v, that the Treo 680 can be expected to have the same?

Not really. The problems with the 750 has no relation to the 650 problems nor should we expect the 750v nor the 680 to have the same problems. The 680 was approved by Cingular and should not have the same problems as the 650. The 680 was actually created to address the issues that we all experienced with the 650. The 750V was made for Vodafone and obviously, it was approved for released by Vodafone since they felt that it was good enough to sell. So far I have read some good ratings about the 750V. The Treo 750 is made exclusively for Cingular. Although almost identical with 750V, these are 2 different networks. What I meant from my previous posting was Cingular rushed to get the 650 out without going through an extensive testing. They do ...

Thanks, I hope they can work out the bugs soon. I am trying to hold out for the 750.
May have to settle for the 680.

I'm in the same situation also. Although if you have no use for the faster data download, the 680 is a very good device specially from a previous 650 user perspective. I was able to play with a 680 for about a week. The size is identical. The RF is excellent. The device is faster since it has more memory. No more rebooting problems. I'm just holding out for the 750 because of the 3G speeds since I use a lot of email and Internet. I don't even care about the WM on the 750 since I'm an old school guy and loves the simplicity of the Palm OS on the 680. Either way, you can't go wrong with either one based on how you're going to use it.
