i am on the smart axcess family plan and i noticed alot of people in here saying t-mobile will not let you add the blackberry package. i guess i just talked to the right person because they added it my account with no problem and it worked just fine. my blackberry works great and my first bill was fine. for al of you with smart axcess i recomend you call customer care and speak with someone because they added it for me.

I have only experienced customers not being allowed to add the sidekick data. I'm not sure but people might be having problems adding blackberry data & e-mail onto single line smart access acounts.
...
The only restrictions to a smart access customer are:
1. spending limit 150
2. No sidekick add on, (can use sidekick with the unlimited text package tho)
3. No base rate plan over 49.99 (certain rate plans have exceptions)
Blackberry add on feature will work fine, people are prob jsut confusing that with the sidekick add on.
...
I spoke with customer care twice, and both times I was told the same thing:
1. I need to downgrade my calling plan to the $29.99 Basic Plan (currently have the $49.99 plan) in order to add the $20.00 BB Internet.
2. The total for both internet and calling plan cannot be greater than $50.00.
That was only about a week or two ago, I don't think it was change recently, unless I'm wrong.
If someone has added the BB $20.00 plan to their current Smart Access Get More 1000 plan (49.99), please let me know how you did it.
Thanks
...
you can have a 4999 rate plan...it has nothing to do with th rate plan...its an added feature...you can have the sidekick package total internet, the only thing is they cost a little more...the black berry is 3999 not 1999, sorry to bst your bubble, but hey unlimited internet and 300 text msg's...oh yeah i work for t-mobile, but you can still call and check for youself
...
There used to be a 19.99 internet add on that smart access customer could only get if they had the 29.99 basic plan for. 29.99 + 19.99 = 49.98. But the BB add on can be added to a 49.99 plan. Tmobile direct dealer here also.
...
KnightBang, The 39.99 BB plan is the stand alone data with no calling plan with it. From what I read, they wanted to have a calling plan with the BB feature added onto it.
...
And it was a few months ago that they removed the option to add on data to Smart Access. This affects SideKick users also. No plans as of yet to bring back the data for SA ☹️
...
So Knightbang work for an authorized dealer eh? cause you need some learnin on the plans my man.
...
Haha, indirect dealers.... can't live with them, can't live without them.
...
i added the 19.99 plan to my family plan smart axcess, they told me right before i desided to add a line to my acct it can be done just fine and i was on the 600 min plan for $39.99 per month. they never gave me any troubles with this at custoemr care.
...
But thats a family plan, its different for an individual plan. I was told that I cant add the $19.99 internet to my existing plan unless I downgraded. They did suggest adding a line to my plan, but I didnt want to do that.
...
Cruiser1, You can add the 19.99 BB plan to any smart access plan, Individual or family. You do not need to be on 29.99. The 19.99 internet plan (no longer available in my market) needed to be on the 29.99 or lower.

they just recently changed it. i was told by a csr and a store manager if i would not have added a line i could have still added the bb package. now a back in july or august they both said i wouldnt have been able to. it has rescently been changed is what they told me at t-mobile
