BlackBerry 8703e
8703e vs 700W & 700P???
I started off with the 700W...After a few months I was tired of the locking up issues and got VZW to replace it with a 700P...I've had this 700P for a week now and it's restarted for no apparent reason twice and the email is not nearly as robust/capable as the 700W.
So, now I'm looking at the blackberries. My biggest concerns:
Use is as a modem for a laptop?
Signal strength (700's were best for PDA's that I've ever seen)???
Battery life, stats show the blackberry is worse than the 700's?
Contacts, need ability to store at least 1,000 and need the ability for it to create a new contact from a number that called me?
Should I wait (is the Pearl coming out on VZW?)?
Any and all feedback would be appreciated.

The Palm 700wx or 700p are way better than any blackberry, it doesnt even have a camera? If your palm is restarting try putting programs on the memory card only.

Well, I've now had all 3 (I have the blackberry now). Of the 3 I like the Treo700W best just because of it's functionality, how the menu's screens are designed etc...The only thing keeping me from liking the blackberry the best is the scroll wheel. I hate it, but I'm getting use to it.

I agree with you on the camera. Kind of like people buying into "all in one" printers, which never can give you the best in any of the three or four options.
Stick with BlackBerry. Like you, I've tried them all and There isn't a better option as of yet. I really like the 8703e the best, but switched to the 8700c (cingular) for business reasons.
T-Mobile's 8700G will give you the lightning fast email delivery (no joke! blink of an eye), but their reception?...coming from VZW it could be painful. Cingular is by far the Slowest on email delivery...like waiting for paint to dry...

Cingular seems like the best company over all when it comes to just about everything EXCEPT coverage. Here in Oregon they have decent coverage but the calls drop so frequently you'd be better off with 2 tin cans and string.
Once Cingular gets their network up to snuff they will easily take Verizon. Verizon just nickle and dimes their customers far too much. Disable bluetooth file transfer on all phones, create BS service to do something similar and charge monthly for it citing "security reasons". Disable DUN on all phones, create BS service to do the same thing and charge monthly for it again citing "security reasons"...Same routine over and over.
If they didn't truly have the best network, they would be in last place in market share...

I totally agree with the earlier posts. Blackberry lacks the flash of the other devices but it just plain works and has the best email software out there! Nothing compares to the way the Blackberry OS uses the radio. There is no company more efficient.
