I have liked my palm, don't know much about the Blackberry.

Where will I see the biggest differences?

I am also interested in that exact same question, anyone who has any insight would be greatly appreciated. The 700w is cool but I want something more business savvy with better screen res.

I don't have the 700w, but my son has the 700p and I have been using Blackberry's for years, so I may be able to offer some opinion.

1) NOBODY touches the Blackberry when it comes to handheld email delivery...PERIOD! Yes, you can get email on the Treo, but its not "push" and if you set it to auto retrieve email more than every 45-60 minutes, your battery will die very quickly.

2) You can set the Blackberry up to retrieve multiple email accounts automatically. With the Palm, this has to be done manually. Though for all accounts EXCEPT for your primary, it will only check mail every 10-15 minutes.

3) If you asked my son, his complaint with the Blackberry is no camera and you can't play music on it.

4) As for me, using the Blackber...

I totally agree. I had the 700 W and the 700 P and I would have to reset them at least 3-4 times a day. I got tired of it and went back to my Razr until now. I ordered the 8703, so I will let you know my thoughts when it arrives.

I'm with you guys. BLACKBERRY FOR LIFE! My scroll wheel broke on my 7230, so I decided to upgrade from both BB7230 and T-Mobile to BB8703e and Verizon Wireless. They claim that my new BB should be at my door by 3:00PM 9-20-06 🤤 . I'll drop the word when I play with my new toy for a day or so.

The Palm and Windows operating system simply pale in comparison to the Blackberry. I originally had a Blackberry 7130E that I sold on Ebay to purchase a Palm 700W. After having the phone replaced by Verizon 3 times within the first 45 days because it kept on crashing because of inadequate memore allocation for the programs, Verizon reluctantly sent me a 700P as my fourth replacement. The 700P proved to be as bothersome as the 700W though it did not crash as often but when syncing on the Wireless Sync Server, if you had multiple email, work phone, home phone or mobile phone entries for one contact it would create one email, work phone, home phone or mobile phone entry that had to be reformatted in order to send email or call that person. When...

Well, I got 8703E yesterday and I'm pleased to be with Verizon's network, but I can't get the thing to sync with my Mac. I've been syncing my BB7230 with my Mac with no problems, but this is 8703E situation has me a little bummed out ☚ī¸

I simply REFUSE to return to Windows, so I must find a way around this in the meantime while pocketmac sorts this out...looks like I'll be stopping by a friend's house to sync my Blackberry with their PC, LAME đŸ‘ŋ

that's why mac's suck, they just aren't the big dog, therefore other companies are not willing to spend the money (yet) to have campatibility improved between Mac's and everything.

first, learn how to spell or simply use the "check spelling" function located below. second, ever since apple started using intel, developers have been coming out of the woodwork to make software for them (RIM WENT TO POCKETMAC!) Besides, what "compatibility" issues are you speaking of? GAMES!
Play games on consoles, not computers...unless you like Warcraft 😉
Anyway, I never had any issues making the painless switch from windows 98 to mac until I bought a blackberry. Macs don't suck, this situation does. Remember, part of the reason that blackberries are so reliable, is because the DON'T use windows mobile!

gosh thanks for the spelling lesson, you really think I thought compatibility was spelled with C A M. dude please...you, like every other mac user, have this "me against the world" mentality. Just go with the flow bro, Mac's are neato but they are pain in the ass and I am yet to see a single mac being used in mass amounts at any company including my own. Thanks for looking out partner.

RIM just released PocketMac v4.0 for Blackberry on 10-2-06, which settles any issues with being unable to sync the 8703. It looks better than ever and it also has support for the Pearl.
As I said before, Mac will no longer be ignored...

Here are the directions Steve at PocketMac sent to me:

How Do I Download This New Release?

Step 1: Click Here To Start The Downloading Process:

go to blackberry support...phonescoop won't allow links to be posted here

Step 2: Click On The "Download" Link
When you get to the download software page, click on the "Download" BlackBerry Desktop Software link

Step 3: Choose "PocketMac v4.0 for BlackBerry"
Select "PocketMac v4.0 for BlackBerry" from the choice of software products to download. C...

FYI, I just tested a blackberry 8700g and it synced flawlessly with OSX.3(Panther) and OSX.4(Tiger). I called verizon and complained about it and they admitted to having a meaningless block in their software. I told them if they didn't work it out right this second, I'd either be wiping this blackberry 8703e and reloading non-verizon software into it or I'd be going back to T-Mobile or trying out Cingular (already tried sprint...no comment), so now I'm waiting on hold with blackberry support to work it out...

If want some great info on a blackberry go to www.pinstack.com, pretty much everything you need to know is there and ask any questions you want.
I own a 7130e through VZW and have absolutely no issues with crashes and such. I can back up everything on my phone including call logs and messages, email is awesome and with some of the newer blackberries you can use MP3's for ringtones for free if you look in the right places. It is my only phone, but then my geographic location is suitable to carry only this as my only phone. Anyway, go to www.pinstack.com
