The data technology is 1xRTT or so it seems. What's the point of the hybrid phone?

Give Sprint/Nextel a break... this si the first of its kind and is only available in a few markets... once all the kinks are worked out and the hybrid is nationwide, you will see evdo hybrid devices...

The reason for getting this phone as opposed to a true Nextel is that it has the ability to have DC beep through like call waiting while you are on the phone. This way you won't miss a call alert, and apparently the person trying to DC you won't get the hated "user busy" or "user unavailable". This is possible since you have the cell/data on Sprint, and the DC on Nextel. Unsure what this will do to billing. Would you be on the Nextel side, or the Sprint side?
