WiFi and Data Package and ring types.

I'm most probably not going to purchase the unlimited data package, but I'm wondering if it's necessary to use the online. Would it be okay if I just used wifi at a hotspot and not necessarily use it on the go when I'm not in a hotspot. Basically I'm wondering if I'll get charged if I try using the internet without having the unlimited data package because I'd most likely be using it exclusively in a hotspot area. Thanks again.

On another note - is there a vibrate/silent feature?

If your talking about using WiFi in places like ur home or at school where its free, the obvious answer would be its free to use since your using your own setup to get the deivce online. But then again, you have to imagine they probably wouldnt make it that easy and probably disable internet services or put you on a pay as you go sytem unless you have the unlimited data services. But the best way to go about it is to call them and ask them, none of those who have the phone without the unlimited data package will know until they get their bill back either very low or very high. 611 'em! Easy and Quickest answer.

I wouldn't just send the poster to 611... that's what this forum is about, getting information from actual users, right? 🙂 It's a good question.

I've had the phone for a day now. The data package is not worth $30/mo to me, so I did not take it, but I would love to be able to access the internet from time to time. The guy in the store said I'd be able to do it when I have a wifi connection at home or at a free cafe. I've managed to establish wifi, but have failed to reach any internet sites so far.

The sales guy signed me up for the TZone that gives TMobile internet (forgot exact name) for $5.99/mo, at my request. Still can't figure out how to get accuweather etc. I'll try to report back.

So far this phone is just a really expensiv...

I also agree that most internet access plans are not worth the monthly charges unless you are a person who must have connectivity anytime/anywhere. I'm not that kind of user, so I just access the internet wherever there is a hotspot. My college campus has wi-fi all over so it is very convenient for me jump on-line to quickly check my e-mails, class websites, etc.

And, regarding the original poster's question about the vibrate function, yes, the S620 does vibrate.

Hey..

I just got of the Howard Wiki Forum for T-Mobile Data Plans and according to them u can substitute the Tmobile Total Internet Plan for the Blackbery Internet plan if you don't want to pay extra for the T-Mobile Hotspot Service.

Which is wat I intend to do to save 20$...

Check it out for yourselves:

But the Total Internet Plan is $29.99/mo... how does that save you money?

I should have mentioned I'm using the Dash only for its Data services. In which the data option is 49.99/mo.
