hey is it possible to use aim on the dash without buying any internet services?

sorry just wanted to make myself clear. I'm looking to buy the tmobile dash because I'm tired of my sidekick. With the sidekick you cant use aim without getting an Internet plan. I wanted to know is it possible to use aim without an Internet package. Any help would be appreciated.
