HTC Dash / S620 / S621 (Excalibur)
Email on unlocked phone
I received a Dash and unlocked it. My regular carrier is Cingular. The phone works with the Cingular sim card. It also connects to my home wireless network
But how do I send email? So far it always says "failed to connect to server" even when connected wirelessly. I haven't tried while connected as a phone as I don't have a data package with Cingular yet, but would that work?
As an aside, is there a way to replace the T-moble software with Cingulars versions?

You need a data plan with Cingular to be able to use the email. If I'm not mistaken, once you get the settings for Cingular set up on the Dash, then that should remove the T-Mobile software. Cingular's data support department should be able to give you the settings with no problem. You may be able to send them to your phone via Cingular's website. IF not, then contact their data support department. They should be able to get you set up with a data plan as well.
