Hi all-

i stopped by my local T-mobile store yesterday and tried the dash out and it seemed reeeeeeeeally slow. is that just a combo of all the t-mobile/myfaves and other things the general public has probably loaded on there?

I am going to buy an unlocked HTC s620, anyone able to attest to how fast it is and what kind of reception/call quality it gives when not on t-mobile?

It also depends on where you're located. Luckily for me, I live in a location where edge is available, making the internet very fast. GPRS isn't that slow either though, so I'm not sure why it was slow at the T-Mobile store. A lot of the time we here at the stores forget to clear the history and temp files of the phones, and if you don't do that for a while, it tends to get bogged down.

yeah, if the temp files aren't deleted on the display phones, they tend to become very slow. however if these files are consistently deleted and backgroun programs are turned off, the phone is fairly fast, particularly online with EDGE enabled.

I do not find it slow either. I have been using it since it was released. If you don't close out the running apps and delete temp files, as you do a windows PC, then it will run slow and/or some apps won't run at all because it'll tell you that you don't have enough memory to do so.

It has good reception, good call quality, loud speakerphone (much louder than the Pearl who's battery door covers the speaker). Yet, you do need to power cycle it from time to time.
