Remove Verizon UI

ok, so we all hate the verizon UI...

How do i change to the REAL motorola one?

I pick up this phone 05/15/07

thanks for any help!

I miss the 815, where I could delay a txt msg.

where I didn't have to wait to send 1 msg before working on something else... it would just send in the back ground.

I was progress, the VZW UI is slowing the evolution of the cell phone.

Class action anyone?

You have to wait for the firmware to get out there from another carrier. Since this phone is currently a Verizon exclusive, you're stuck with the Verizon UI. If you want the Moto UI, you're going to have to pray it gets released for Alltel and the firmware becomes leaked to the public.

If someone petitions for a class action, I'd be happy to sign my name. The Verizon UI is what's making me want to hang on to my old E815 that I've had for 2 years. My NE2 comes in 3 weeks, but I don't want to part with my E815 for a standardized UI phone.

Yep.. Verizon exclusive for 6 months, so you have a bit of a wait.

so once it comes out, how and where do you get the UI? Second thing is when you get it, how do you install it?

Maxx Ve. The Ve means Verizon. Don't wait for another carrier to have this one too soon.

Please forgive the multiple questions, but I'm new to this and would be appreciative of a couple of explanations:

-- Once the firmware becomes available, how would I get it and how would I load it?

-- Will it have any positive effect on reception?

-- What's NE2?

-- What does "unlocked" refer to in on-line and eBay ads?

Thanks, all.

I'm not sure where you would get the firmware, but I can tell you it won't effect reception, just the operation of the phone. NE2 means you can upgrade your phone at a discount rate every 2 years if you sign a new contract. As a rule, US carriers lock their phones into their service and their networks. Unlocked phones are phones that could be used with any network of the same technology. In th US this is for GSM (Cingular and T-Mobile) only, since subscriber info on a gsm phone is kept in a sim card.
