My pros/cons of the Maxx are in my review, as for the 8700, I've got one sitting right here that I'm borrowing, but I had placed an order for the 8700 and cancelled it.

The 8700 is a great phone, with flash menu, the speakerphone leaves room for improvement, in that it isn't the clearest or loudest, and it cannot be left on, it can only be activated while on the call. There really aren't that many cons to the phone. It's a little heavier than the MAXX, and isn't as wide, but I found that the MAXX feels better in your hand & is easier to text on.

Hope this helps, and I don't think that you can go wrong with either option.

They're both terrific phones.

I chose the Maxx because it has external music controls and a flash (the 8700 does not), but the 8700 is an excellent quality phone. Other than those two things, it does everything well. One other difference - to get to the microSD card you have to remove the battery cover on both phones, and on the 8700, you have to also remove the battery itself--not on the Maxx.

And both of them are beautiful fingerprint magnets!
