signal bars
I just got the maxx and noticed the signal bars are always 1 less than my slvr was. It show 3 1x bars when my slvr showed 4 and the evdo bars are always 3 or less, it never shows 4 where my slvr would. Is this normal and acceptable or do I have a bad phone? Thanks.

My maxx shows less then my last phone too. I had the E815 before this one, but even though i show one less bar then my old phone the reception is still excellent. I think the clearity of this phone is way better then my last. I have had this phone for over 3 weeks now and i have never had a dropped call because of the bars. Reception is just as good if not better then my old phone. I think your phone is normal. It seems to work the same way for me here too.

you can't always go by what the phone says, there is a program in it telling it what to display, i have had a ton of phones that will range between 0-3 bars at my house but some of the ones with less signal dropped less calls and worked better than some of the ones that said 2-3. I guess what i am saying is don't put to much stock in h ow many bars it is showing you, it is not an exact or comlete measurment of your true service
