Saw the Maxx today...can't decide

whether or not to buy it. I like the phone but still wonder if the lg8600 is a bit nicer. The MAXX is nice until you open it and those hideous red bars are there. I suppose I'd get used to it. The 8600 has a much nicer appearance and even has nicer wallpapers and such.

Anyone have any opinions on which would be a better choice? I realize that it's hard with the MAXX just coming out today.

well history tell us this phone could have some major issues....I personally would say stick with the lg, i myself just ordered the 8700, i know the display is a little smaller on the front but that thing feels solid and the camera is excellent

I looked at this phone today also and I was not impressed. Even though Rich says it felt sturdier than the old razr's, I like the feel of metal. It does not feel like it is made of metal even if it is. They did not have the VX8700 at the verizon store so I walked over to circuit city (where I live its across a parking lot entrance 🤣 seems like overkill to me) but oh well I digress. The VX 8700 feels sturdier even though it may not be, time will tell. I cant say anything about call quality on the maxx though did not try it. The VX 8700 has a little static to it but not unbearable.

The 8700 has a little static to it? Like it's static when talking or listening? I had an LG 5200 and everyone told me there was lots of static on it but I never heard anything. But the reception was pretty crapy with it. I'm concerned with getting a motorolla and now a little gun shy about the LG. I'm still trying to decide which one, I like them both but I'm nervous about them both.

The Max works very well. The call quality is clear as can be and the RF is strong. The phone works very quickly except when you text there is a delay before it sends. The battery life is not so good. If you use V Cast it drops quickly. It lasts all day with heavy use. I charge it each night so it really is not a problem.
The phone is very solid , but the front is mostly covered with Glass. Do not drop it or I think it will shatter.
No phone is perfect for everyone. Just go with the one that pleases you the most. Good luck. 😁 😁 😁

The glass will definitely not shatter! As I walked out the door after buying my Maxx I went to pop it out of the holster to check call quality. My LG 4500 used to jump out of the holster and into my hand - not so the Maxx! I missed the catch and it went crashing to the pavement. Had the phone less than 30 seconds and my first drop. But the phone handled it well....no harm, no foul!!

on my end no complaints on the other end of the line. My Brother had the Samsung SGH-a670 and no static. I expected that kind of quality from all verizon phones once i switched. Oh yeah and the volume is super loud. (at least on mine)

vx8600 ftw. I have it and I love it. Wouldn't trade it for any other phone currently on verizons network.

I purchased two last night and they are not the razr of old. They are loaded with new features and sounds great. They also bought back the ring and vibe that work together. Can change wallpaper inside and out using your own pictures. Still finding new things. New brightness controls for the screen, very customizable. The LG8700 may have an issue with the upper flip at the hinge. Also no speaker phones on the LG until you make a call. The LG8700 also has flat buttons which I found hard to dial with larger fingers.

I picked up the Razr Maxx a few weeks ago. So far i love it. I had the E815 before and i had started haveing trouble with the charging port. The Maxx has the mini USB conection for charging and seems much better then the E815. The only grip i have with this phone is i can't seem to find a way to turn off the reminder for missed calls. When im sitting in a meeting or busy at work the phone will keep reminding me i have a missed call untill i check it. IF anyone knows how to turn off the missed call reminder let me know.
Other then that the phone feels very well built, has excellent reception, I like the larger screen, Camera has very good quality for taking pictures, volume is loud and you can set to have it both vibe and ring at the same t...
