cuz this phone is going to be locked up big time!
-same vzw slow retarded/boring UI
-cant sync with computer for pix and ringtones since it does not support obex just bluetooth for the earpiece.
-memory card microsd is useless since you can not copy ur own mp3 to it unless you convert them to wma format. what a pain. and its cool to have all ur music files in two diff type files on your computer thats superb.
-you can only buy the ringtones from GIN for 2.99 per song.
enjoy a non fully functional motorola slvr!
VZW is for old people that just wants a phone to hit SEND and END. they are sooooo behind on high tech end phone its not even funny!

Yeah, too bad CDMA is a better technology than GSM. The only good thing GSM has over CDMA are SIM cards, and even then, all they do is make the phone more expensive!

Yes, us poor VZW users... ๐Ÿ™„

He's right. CDMA is WAY superior to GSM. I've used both and i've lost 1/8th of the calls under CDMA that I have with GSM. That, and i like CDMA's because i can get replacements in the store as opposed to by mail. God bless Verizon ๐Ÿ˜

God I love when people complain about the Verizon UI... It really isn't a big deal, unless you are that bored and you must stare at your phone all day long. (by the way the 8300 has the ability to change the colors on the UI if the red is just too much for you)... AND as for the technology that is "so far behind" maybe you should check out the Samsung a990 which is the ONLY phone in the us with a 3.2 megapixel camera??? Can your carrier say that? Nah, didn't think so.... And one last note... Verizon cripples their devices to make bank on people needing to customize thier phones... And if you KNEW how to use your memory card, which I believe our "boring, old people" phones have, you might be able to figure out how to transfer information... T...

Ive been with verizon for 6+ years now. Now I work for Verizon, and I can say that we have the best phones over any company hands down. Our overall selections is 10X better that Tmobile, cingular, and all the rest. Us poor Verizon customers are so sad. You wouldnt be singin that tune if you werent stuck in a contract with someone you hate. that what your dumbass gets for letting a sales guy talk you into the 2nd best. haha

So behind in high tech? Do some research before making statements like this. Verizon is beating Cingular and everyone else in the race for the coolest high tech things. Sorry bud. Go drink some coffee.

LG "the V" aka vx 9800 for tech geeks, for texters, the only competition for the sidekick series, but with multimedia power. Able to play actual 3d video games as smoothly or even better than a gameboy with the power of an original NES in the palm of your hand. almost as nice as the n64 when it first came out but much smaller, the LG Chocolate, AKA VX-8500 for tech geeks.
Mp3 & WMA support out of the box with no hacking required.

Samsung's a970 was the first USA released phone with a 2.0 mp cam and the phne that just replaced it, the Samsung A990, The first USA released phone with a 3.2 MP cam built into it, which also supports the ability to plug into your tv's jacks to show the pix/vids taken with the camera on your tv screen.

The original post is very true. I am a verizon wireless customer. I have to say that i love the network and service but when it comes to phones they kill them. Yes they do have cool high tech looking phones but by putting there UI on them they remove the High tech Interface and make it plain and simple. So in the end the phones look cool but when you open them up, they all look the same with a few minor things. So as a verzion customer i have to say that after 5 really good years with vzw the only thing that is keeping me going into year 6 is the network (everyone i know has verzion). I wish they didn't do the whole UI thing, it really isn't working out.

Instead of us as customers embracing change and technology by having a differen...

Dude,

Do you realize that VZW is in BUSINESS?? They aren't a company for old people (Send/End)...They're a company for the masses, the masses that buy ringtones, and other BREW apps. These extras lead to the profitability of the company, which allows them to have a superior network. Now do you get it? Maybe if you left your mom's basement and actually MADE your $ you'd see the big picture.

yes they are a business, but the whole reason behind a standardized UI is that it makes it easier for people who are stupid to switch phones and old people. I am sure the ones who use BREW apps and do ringtones can learn a new UI when they get a phone. Think of it this way, it is liking buying a BMW with a honda civic interior. People should stop defending the verzion UI, it sucks. The only phones that are good with the UI are 8300 and Chocolate because they have a flash based UI that looks smooth and cool. All the other phones have a simple one. They do it by running a get it now applications on top of the manufacturer UI. That is why the razr was so slow.

This is true. The problem with Verizon is that they disable their new phones. Prime EX: the v710 that I am carrying around in my pocket. They had to recall/give new phones to people who purchased it since they disabled parts of the Bluetooth features. Now, not only are we buying phones with disabled features, but also with an installed UI.

I understand that they are running a buisness, and by having people pay for ringtones etc they can make money and improve their service, but why not cut whoever is developing this UI and put that money back into the buisness. Leave the UI alone. As stated before, part of the "fun" of getting a new phone was learning the new UI. If one does not want to learn a new UI stick with the same brand of...
