i know on the gsm version and most all bt cing phones that you can bt ringers to other gsm bt enabled phones. it shows the bt profiles, but says carrier dependent. now, since sprint currently only has smart phones that can bt ringers, will they cripple this option on this phone also? i would get this phone if it were able to bt ringers, does anybody know?

The Sprint version will have OBEX, but it only supports vCards. Since CMDA carriers control which phones are allowed on their network, they have more say-so on software customization and phone functions. Verizon doesn't allow any OBEX profiles on their phones, Sprint allows OBEX for vCard (phonebook entries) files only. Neither carrier would allow Ringers to be transferred because that would undermine thier multi-million dollar ringtone sales.

Since GSM phones can be unlocked and used on any network, GSM carriers have less leverage in getting what they want out of handset manufacturers.
