MP3 xfer, headphone jack, charger ???s

I read a FAQ (on samsung.com) that states that you have to use a memory card reader to transfer MP3 to/from the phone. Is this true and, if so, is it the only way?
Other phones (e.g. moto v360) plug in to USB and simply appear like an external disk to windows. Seems much more convenient then having to pop out a memory card everytime and certainly a lot cheaper than having to buy a memory card reader.
Does the phone have a standard, stereo 1/8" jack? Some samsung phones have goofy non-standard earbud/headphone jacks.
Does the phone charge over USB? It would be really convenient to be able to plug a standard USB cable into my laptop to charge up the phone.

You do NOT have to use a memory card reader to transfer MP3s to/from the phone. That is just one of your options. You would need a memory card reader ONLY if you are transferring the MP3s to/from the Micro Sd Card itself.
There are two other options for transferring info.
You can use a USB cable, click and drag like you mentioned above.
Your other option is to plug a USB Bluetooth Adapter into your computer, click and drag.

can you set mp3s from the memory card as ringtones or just from the phone?

Most phones you can but there are a few models that do not allow you to do that. You could with the Nokia 6230....awesome phone by the way.....almost legendary! But you cannot do that with Cingular's Samsung 807 or Tmobile's Samsung 809. I would try it and see what happens. If it works, great! But if not, you have your answer. I just got the Samsung T629 today and haven't had a chance to put my new silver beauty through her paces!

I just purchased this phone and I don't see where you can attach a usb cable to the phone to drag mp3's to it. Where is the usb jack?? anyone know?

The USB cable plugs into the same place on the phone as the charger and headset.
