Hello All..

I ordered my KRAZR from Ebay, batterymania for 349.00 (came with a car charger, but my old RAZR charger worked in the new KRAZR). It shipped and I had it in 3 days after placing my order.

This was a brand new, never been opened KRAZR K1. The KRAZR comes in a cool box, one side slides out to reveal phone, other side opens to the accessories (manuals, charger, etc.). The phone was new, never used as timers were all 0 and the protective tape on the phone faces, screens, and key pad was -factory- tape.

I downloaded my RAZR contacts to the old cingular SIM, and then put that SIM in the KRAZR, powered up, and phone came on, identified Cingular. All was ok and checked out. I made a call and all was great. I then made a la...

One other thing... Motorola Phone Tools (if you bought that program with your RAZR), does NOT recognize the KRAZR. I emailed BVRP Software, and got an email back they don't support KRAZR yet, but will in first quarter 07.

Interesting situation. So does this mean that if someone wants this phone and do use Cingular they are assed out on some features or will those be able to be gotten after the Phone Tools works? The reason I ask is, it sounds like you did some investigating on this matter.

Hey T Mobile---

Yes I did extensive calls/research. According to the MOTO phone rep, this -user interface- is unique to each cell phone company. The cell phone company instructs the phone on how to communicate on it's network. The MOTO rep said the cell phone companies deal with these unlocked phones all the time, and this user interface is no big deal. I asked MOTO if they had the user interface for this phone, and he said no.

I went to the Cingular store (Kansas City Store), and they confirmed this. They have re programed RAZR's that were elsewhere. I could not get high enough in the Cingular phone tree help desk to confirm this though.

I mean, some people dont care about using some of these advanced features. I do care, an...

I am new to this forum, so you may have already figured this out, but Ringer and Picture ID are not available when all you contacts are stored to the SIM card. Due to the size and limited space of the SIM, it only holds the name and number of the contact. If you want to use the extended features, you will have to save the contact to the phone. This has been true for every motorola phone I've owned. (v400, v551, v557) Most recently the KRZR K1. I transfered all my contacts via SIM and then copied to the phone and the extended features work perfectly. You can still have contacts on your SIM and I suggest always backing up.

Select your phonebook and highlight the contact you want to copy to your phone.

Press the left soft button that reads option.

The third select from the bottom reads "copy to phone" By selecting this, you will copy the contact to your phone and be able to edit the contact and add everything you want.

Keep in mind, you can select which view of your phonebook you want; Phone & Sim; Sim on...

This is probably a religious debate, but... contacts in SIM are not better due to SIM card limitations. My Nokia phone will store only 1 number per contact on SIM, which, I assume is the SIM specification limit. Of course, if portability is more important to you, then, storing to SIM is better. Maybe someday the SIM specification will be updated to accomodate...

Yea could not assign specific ringer to id either. Not even listed. Not sure if I trust taking mine into Cingular to add it either. I have it working for browser, and everything. What if I take it in and then they mess it up? LOL Also I got mine new but box was different. Had all the plastic etc on it also. Had hell of a time getting the browser to work even using the codes that I found on here. Had to change a few things and now working fine. Also My Tools cd works fine with the phone.
