KRZR...should I get it?

i am now eligible for upgrade. i hate doing 2 year contracts. i called cingular and asked how much the krzr would cost on a one year. they told me it would be $329.99 then i called the store around the block from my house, they said $250. That is a lot of money for me to spend just to have a one year. so i called around and best buy has it for $129 on a two year. that is a lot better for me, but idk if i want the phone for two years.

so basically what i am asking is, would i get bored of the krzr after a while if i signed up for two year? or should i just wait for the price to drop on the one year? thanks.

Well for one thing if you go to a store like Best Buy or a store that sells cell phones that is not a corporate store, then you are signing a 2 year contract on the phone with them and another 2 year contract on the plan with the cell phone carrier. So that is why Best Buy may be able to offer the phone at a cheaper price because in a since you are signing a 4 year contract. 👿 THE ARE EVIL.

Uhhh - that last response makes no sense...you aren't signing up for 4 years if you get the phone through Best Buy.

I saw the KRZR at Wal-Mart for 149 for a 1-year contract.

Netter 123 is correct, Wal-Mart is offering that price on the 1 year contract and the phone is priced at $97 for a 2 year contract upgrade.

I felt the same way about the price, especially when the phone can't be insured through Cingular. However, I got a great price at Wal-Mart and I love the phone! (and the 1 year warranty for Motorola is valid)

I am still under a Cingular contract so I just picked up an unlocked on on eBay for around $200. Cingular wants $149 on their website with a 2 year so I didn't feel too bad about it. Looking forward to getting it in the mail.

Justin,
Spoke to my local Cingular/ATT contact person here in Austin about folks like Letstalk.com and Wirefly.com. We are about to upgrade several lines/phones with Cingular/ATT.I was asking her how Letstalk.com can offer lower prices for the "same" phone that ATT sells? Her answer was... "these folks may sell re-furbished phones to the consumer!" Is this information if true, indicated to the consumer when buying a Cingular/ATT contract upgrade and a Cingular/ATT locked phone from a Letstalk, Wirefly, BestBuy...etc! You stated that "they were evil" could you offer further insight before I cause a potential disaster! Thanks!!

Ready to upgrade a couple of my lines to the KRZR K1. My contact with a local Cingular/ATT store in the Austin, Tx area communicated to me that she has had over 6 customers bring the K1 back due to "cracking/breaking" of the front
cover. My thought was "don't drop the phone it will not break." Cingular/ATT does not warranty this breakage, but Moto will with a 2 week turnaround. Has anyone who has owned this phone experienced front cover breakage? She questioned the long term durability!?? Thanks!

I've had my KRZR for a month now and haven't had any issues with the front cover, other than it being a magnet for fingerprints. I don't know how the front cover could just break or crack without being dropped or mishandled in some way. It is a reflective glass but it's not that fragile. Maybe there was just a bad batch of front glass covers.

Great phone by the way. Best Moto I've ever had.
