Strange - Cingular must be loosing it's grip on Motorola's U.S. Marketing division. 😕

Yeah, but the CDMA one is expected to be available long before the GSM one, at least in the US.

roadmap has it pending the end of october. test phones were just recieved by the RF guys. it could launch christmas, but motorol's are usually really horrible in testing and have to be pushed back many times. V3i is a perfect current example. but it shouldn't be a long time after the CDMA vaiant, maybe a few months.

I knew that, I was just suprised that the CDMA one would be released first. It may actually be, I don't know, but phonescoop is usually pretty accurate about when a phone will be released (the V3i notwithstanding). 😉

The KRZR K1 will have both CDMA and GSM versions. The CDMA is expected to drop first
(see Phone Scoop's MOTO2006 coverage: https://www.phonescoop.com/articles/moto_2006 /index.php?p=k1)

from that article:
"The CDMA model is expected in the US around the end of Q3, while the GSM model is not expected here until the end of the year or early next year. It should be available outside the US in early fall, around the same time as the CDMA model."

It's been in testing for Verizon for a while now. See here: http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2006/07/23/pics -of-motorolas-krzr-for-verizon/

you're not really adding much to the discussion here..

what's your point? i'm not saying that CDMA won't be first. just that cingular will carry the phone soon. 😕
