I've had a similar experience. I just got a Jabra VBT185Z blue-tooth headset. Initially setting it up (pairing and discovery) worked fine. After turning both headset and phone off for several hours, I couldn't get the phone to see the headset even if I removed it and re-paired. It'll either say "connect failed" or just sit there doing nothing.
I took the phone in to the Verizon store for a tech to examine, as the phone support couldn't resolve the issue. The technician narrowed it down to the phone, as the headset could pair up fine with other phones in the store. He suggested a software update.
It's now on 24.1_01.19.08. Phone was able to pair and see the headset no problem. Used it on my ride into work. Again, turned both off. After work, same problems. Unable to get the phone to see the headset anymore.
Very frustrating. None of the Bluetooth settings seem to be responsive such as turning "Discovery" on. I don't want to go through the hassle of returning the phone just for the same thing to happen again.
