krzr defect??
I just got a krzr, but I have developed a problem. The device does not play ringtones or sounds from the menu. There is still the key beep, it will still play music, and the ringtone will still sound when it is called, but it will not play the ringtones when choosing one from the ringtone list.
The phone is 3 days old, and hasn't been damaged in any way. Has anyone else had this problem?

No, but I returned my krzr over a month ago for other defects, like not being able to access my memory card, sloooooow response time, and the fact that it does not support a lot of applications that my fusic does. The razr v3m has virtually the same capabilities for much less, and I liked the feel of my old razr a lot more. Save yourself time, trouble and money and return the krzr immediately. 🙂

Try turning up the volume after you hit play. For soem reason the phone at least mine, has the volume turned all the way down when you do this.

i had the same problem a while back. your phone is fine. go into video mode and record a short video of anything. during playback, turn up the volume. this should fix your problem. seems like everytime i add a ringtone the playback volume resets to zero (mute). hope that works.

There are LOTS of problems with this phone, some of them to have work arounds.
I have been seriously dissapointed in this thing and will most likely not buy one again. I tried talking to Motorola, but they were of no help. I can only hope a firmware update will be available to fix the problems eventually.
