Warrantee Problem (White is dry, pink is not)

Heads up

I was in my Verizon store about a battery problem (which they replaced free). But there was a girl next to me who was trying to return a non-working phone (not sure what brand). The tech took a look at the inside of the phone and told her that most likely her insurance would not honor a replacement nor would Verizon because her phone had been exposed to moisture.

I ask how he knew and he showed me little white dot on the battery, as well as a dot inside battery case, was now pink. Pink indicates that the phone (and dot) was exposed to moisture. She did say she had in the bathroom while she was showering. The tech said that is all it takes.

So keep your phone out of humid area because they can tell and will use that as an ...

Which insurance? Cause I pay that $4.99 for insurance every month on top of the existing Verizon/Moto warranty for my KRZR. I just want to make sure I'm paying for "good" insurance.

Verizon told me if I lose/damage/or if the phone gets stolen, then they'll issue me a brand new KRZR with a $50 deductible.

The issue that I spoke of is when an other customer brought in a non-working phone (that the insurance already replaced). The tech looked at the battery (as well as the compartment) an informed the customer that insurance would not honor it again because of the dampness.

Bottom line keep the phone out of wet and steamy places it just gives Verizon another excuse to get out of any warrentee.

PS: If you purchase at Costco they will take it back for whatever, whenever,,,no insurance necessary unless you lose it.

the water mark design is different between the phone manufacturers, and possibly amongst their individual phone models...

ive seen (dry/wet):
white with red dots/red
white with red X's/red
white with pink dots/pink
white with pink X's/pink
white/pink

so while that is true for some phones, there are differences... so dont freak out if ur water mark has some color on it, thats possibly how it should look.
