two options:

1. use motorola phone tools and connect via usb cord and upload the song using their interface. the usb cord is a standard mini usb cord that comes with many digital music players or digital cameras, you probably already have one and dont realize it.

2. upload the edited mp3 (~20 sec worth) to the following website which will send you a text message and allow you to download the ringtone into your ringers folder. just follow the instructions after you receive the text message.

I tried this method and I was able to get it into the ringers folder. But I cant set it as a ringtone. When I go to "set as" it just send me back into the ringtone page. Anybody know how to get past/fix this?

it sends you back to the ringers folder after you have designated it as your ringer so it may be that it is already set. you can also go to settings-sounds-ringer type-voice calls-call with id- and then set your main ringer there or if you want to set a ringer for an individual contact go to edit contact-id-assign ringer and choose the ringer for that contact. hopefully this will work for you. good luck.

No, it still does not work. I cant set it as a ringtone for any number. Any time I try to use "set as" it just sends me back to the ringtone page. ☚ī¸

thank you so much, it worked! 🙂 after trying 8 million methods, this was the easiest and the only one that worked, thanks again! and in response to brany, it might just be the phone itself...

I changed the file type to mpeg 3 or something and I also reduced the bit rate.

personally, i use audacity, its pretty sweet i think...some songs dont work well as ringtones as is, so u gotta tweak the bass, tempo, things like htat, and audacity does all that...
